Can I record a meeting debrief instead of the whole meeting?
Yes. Instead of recording the call, you talk for a couple of minutes right afterward about what was decided, who owes what, and what is still open. In Sentio you record that debrief in the web app and apply the Meeting Notes format, which returns discussion points, decisions, action items and next steps from what you said. It reflects your account of the meeting, not a verbatim record of it.

Why a debrief can be the better capture
A full recording asks other people to be recorded, produces an hour of transcript for a ten-minute decision, and leaves you to dig out the point. A debrief does the sorting while you speak: you drop the small talk, state the outcome, and say which items are really yours. It also needs no one else's participation, which matters when the meeting was an external call, a hallway conversation, or a phone call you could not capture at all. If you want participants' exact words, a debrief is the wrong tool.
What Sentio produces from it
Choose the Meeting Notes format on the recording and the output follows a set outline: a title, the date, attendees if you named them, a short Discussion section, Decisions Made, Action Items with owners only if you mentioned them, and Next Steps. Sections with nothing to put in them are left out. You can edit the result like any note, and the transcript of your debrief is kept alongside it. Reminders can also be created from the note.
What you give up
A debrief is only as complete as your memory. You will skip things you did not notice mattered, and you may misquote a number. It also has no speakers: the transcript is your voice alone, so the app cannot tell you who said what in the meeting. Sentio's bot-joined meeting capture, which records the call itself, is rolling out separately and is not available to every account, so the debrief is the version you can rely on today. The notes are personal; shared workspaces and comments are in early access.
A two-minute debrief that works
Start with the meeting name, the date, and who was there. Then say each decision as a plain sentence beginning "we decided." Next say each follow-up as "I will" or the person's name followed by "will," with the date. Close with open questions. If something was disputed, say so, because a summary that smooths over disagreement will mislead whoever reads it. Keep the notes for yourself, or edit and copy the summary to people who missed the call.
Common questions
How long should the debrief be?
Long enough to cover decisions, owners and open questions, which is usually a couple of minutes. We are not claiming a specific limit; if you use a long recording, check your plan.
Will it work for calls on Zoom, Teams or Meet?
The debrief works for any meeting because you speak it afterward. Having a bot join the call itself is a separate capability that is not available to every account yet.
Does it identify who said what in the meeting?
No. A debrief is your voice summarizing the meeting, so it names people only when you do. Speaker separation depends on the recording and capture workflow your account has.
Do I need anyone's consent for a debrief?
You are recording your own spoken summary, not the meeting. Rules about recording other people vary, and we are not giving legal advice. If you do record a meeting itself, tell the participants.
