Can I use a voice notes app in the browser instead of installing an app?
With Sentio, yes. The web app is the version available today, so you can record, transcribe and review notes in a browser with nothing to install. Native iOS and macOS apps are still in development and Android is coming soon. Your browser will ask for permission to use the microphone, and because we have not verified every browser and phone, test it on the device you actually record on.

What the browser version does
You record in the app using your browser's microphone access, and Sentio produces a transcript, a summary and action items you can edit. Reminders, search across your notes and the formats for turning a note into a decision log or meeting notes are part of the same web app, and your notes sync through your account, so the same notes appear when you sign in on another computer. Nothing here depends on a download, which is also why the site describes the product as available on the web now.
What you give up without a native app
The native iOS and macOS apps are in development and Android is listed as coming soon, and this site gives no release dates for them. We have not verified the things people often expect from a native recorder, such as recording with the screen locked, working offline, or opening from a home screen icon, and we did not set up an installable web app version, so do not assume them. If your habit is a quick thumb-press while walking, try the browser flow on your phone for a few days before you commit.
Microphone permission and a first test
The first time you record, the browser asks whether the site may use the microphone; allow it, and if you previously blocked it, change the site setting in the browser. Make a short test note with a few names and numbers in it, and read the transcript. The advice in the answer about transcription accuracy applies equally in a browser: a close microphone and a quiet room matter more than the app. The free action items tool tells you when a browser cannot record and offers a file upload instead; we have not verified how the full app behaves in a browser that lacks recording.
Getting an account
Check what you can sign up for before you plan around it. The homepage runs a waitlist, the pricing page is framed as a pre-order, and the account-approval screen in the app says Sentio is invite-only during early access, with approval granted manually. The no-signup action items tool on the use-case page lets you try the extraction without an account while you wait.
Common questions
Do I need to install anything to use Sentio?
No. The web app is the version available today and runs in a browser.
Does it work in my phone's browser?
We have not verified it across phones and browsers. Make a short test recording on your device before you rely on it.
Can I use it offline?
We have not verified offline use, so do not assume it. Recording and transcription need a connection as far as we can confirm.
When will the iOS and macOS apps arrive?
They are in development and we publish no release date. Android is listed as coming soon.
